There is a lot of thought about the affect that ancient aliens may have had on ancient humans. We see daily reports about ancient aliens may been responsible for: flight, bombardment and building.
In my own lifetime, I have seen the human race easily create each of the things without the need of some sort of alien tutor helping. So, the idea that previous humans could never create a useful technology is pale. They had thousands of years, we have only had a couple of hundred. It is safe to assume their tech was stronger than ours.
Here's what's really going on:
On a regular basis, there are sun-activities that our ancients were able to predict. To keep the world from killing itself, ancient humans created functionaly monuments at each major ley-line in an effort to repel the sonar blast.
To protect ourselves, we need to fix the old structures. If we don't do that, we're doomed.
